Sadness falls,
with every tear
knowing in my heart
you don’t feel near.
I wish
for one day
we could go back in time
to redo the damage
that divided us.
We, together
would make different choices
walk along alternative paths
set out for brand new sites
to get us to
our future.
And,
in this new consciousness
in this new state of being
where our free will wonders
we see a fresh new perspective.
We witness a new way amongst us
a new way with respect, honesty
and love.
We talk about new visions, hopes
and dreams.
We live in gratitude
for each other
for our lives and time
together.
Each day.
Appreciating each memory
as it comes
pondering the promises
as they are made
because we never know when
